Did the seat just sit there, or did it shatter into pieces? On turbo  motors, 
it is possible - though not likely - for pieces to travel over the turbo  
inlet pipe to the other side -hence the other head. Has compression improved?  
Are all cylinders okay. I would check the rod first. Also check to see if an  
engine stud has turned deeper into the block, while you were doing the head  
replacement, and might now be touching the crank. Top cover can come off,  even 
in the car. - Seth
