As time allows, we have been doing testing on a dyno regarding the
above and have some data. But at this time it would be premature to
release part of these data before all tests have been completed.

What I can say is information presented in the Corvair SAE papers,
Bob Helt's Classic Corvair and How to Hot Rod Corvairs seems to be
quite accurate. You could extrapolate the HP curve for a specific
engine RPM based on this information and this would net some very
reasonable data.

Testing has been done up to 7,200 RPM with the stock magnesium fan.
Tests were run with and without a fan belt. No tests have been done
with a cut down fan, 1/2 speed pulleys, etc. These, as well as other
tests are planned as time permits. If someone has a specific test
they would like to investigate, please post me OFF LIST so we can
discuss this.

I would like to thank Mark Wright for loaning his engine for the high
RPM testing.

Cheers!

Ray

Thanks for the verification of the data; I'm glad to know that it's current
so I don't make myself any bigger horses' a-- than I have to.
I'll be glad to hear from you when you've finished your testing.
