It's a bit like the best trophy at a car show. The best trophy is the one
you get to drive home.

Usually, cars are a lousy investment. You're better off putting your money
in a passbook account. Most of the time, it's only fools that "invest" in
cars. REAL car lovers don't care if they make money with their cars. It's
the pleasure of owning and driving the car that's the REAL payoff. The rest
is just a bonus.

A car that develops a history with you is one that you didn't buy, but one
that you adopted. It becomes a member of the family, and selling it would
be like selling your firstborn off to slavery. Such cars almost never get
sold, and if they do, it's probably a forced sale and one that's mourned
like a death in the family. Because to some of us, our cars ARE our family.
