I have and have seen on the inside of the cover a baffle that was OE near the vent. I believe it was only found on the late cars (67-69?).Can anyone clarify this part application and/or reason behind it?Was it for leaks from the vent? Oil to the rear diff bearing? Or? Finally, is there any good points to an aluminum cover on the diff instead of the steel plate, or would it be considered overkill?
Thanks, Timothy Shortle in Durango Colorado.
