On the fuse....  Sometimes - at a glance - they can appear good.  If they 
have been getting hot on one or both ends, the fuse can LOOK good, but is 
not actually making contact up behind the metal tips where you can't really 
see while it is in the holder.  This phenomenon CAN be the result of rusted 
contacts in the fuse holder.  Quickest way to check is to actually replace 
the fuse - not just look at it.
