Prior to the Mustang II the Corvair frontend was widely used for V8 hotrods.
The steering box is still widely used today and is remanufactured by the
likes of Flaming River. Disc brakes, oh heck yeah. Got ours off a 74 Monza.
Drum brakes do the job, disc brakes don't require as much cursing.

How about a S-10 4WD swap. A little channeling, mud grips, sanddunes, blower
sticking out of the hood, yeah baby.
