Could be several causes. Most likely is a improperly adjusted TV rod or the idle speed too high. Don't forget the adjustment of the shifter arm in the tranny. Had one do that when the shift-valve was out of adjustment (terminally as it turned out...the cable had stretched/worn.....man replacing THAT cable was a fun job!). John
