<VV> PG adjustment nightmare Do I need to pull the fluid pan?
When I turn the belcrank CW,
it moves freely and I don't feel any change in torque pressure that
would be the detent (I suppose) that you describe. Also,
when it is in this full (as full as I can get it CW) the swivel on the
throttle rod from the tunnel will not fit in the belcrank's
fitting. I also noticed that when I go CCW,
there is a sort of pressure change at the end of the rotation that
lasts about 1/4" of the turn and when I let go,
the belcrank passes back though that until the main part of the arm is
at 12 o'clock.

When I turn the belcrank CW, it moves freely and I don't feel any
change in torque pressure that would be the detent (I suppose).
Also, when it is in this full (as full as I can get it CW position)
the swivel on the throttle rod from the tunnel will not fit in the
belcrank's fitting because the rod begins to touch the bottom of the
chassis. I also noticed that when I go CCW, there is a sort of
pressure change at the end of the rotation that lasts about 1/4" of
the turn and when I let go, the belcrank passes back though that
until the main part of the arm is at 12 o'clock. That would seem to
me to be the "detent" that I have been told to pass before installing
adjusting the swivel on the throttle arm from the tunnel and
inserting into the belcrank. Is this the normal way that the
belcrank should behave? Sorry to ask so many questions, but this
apparently is not covered in the Service Manual, my Richard Finch
book, and the exploded diagrams of the parts books (both right and
left coast) are not much help. There is no leakage of any note from
the belchank side, although there is a pool on the passenger side
probably from being hiked up on its driver side rear wheel for the
last two days. So, what I understand is that the belcrank internal
mechanism is probably ok. If so, I really need help to figure out
why things aren't lining up. I hope I can get her road worthy by at
least 1:00 in order to attend our NTCA summer banquet today. I'm
going to step back into the garage and try again while I wait for
replies.
