Ed, would what you said about the wiring, be true of
the '69 with the Boyne "lane change" switch as well?

Matt-
The brake light wiring goes thru the directional
signal switch. It
 sounds 
like the input to the directional switch from the
brake light switch is
 not 
going thru the directional switch to the brake lights.
You probably
 have to 
pull the steering wheel and check the contacts in the
directional
 switch. 
They can be bent (carefully!) to reestablish the
correct contact. You
 can 
put a meter on the white wire of the brake light
switch to find which 
contact that feeds in the directional switch. If the
switch is in the
 off 
position the white wire should connect to the green
and yellow wires
 thru 
the directional switch. You can check for continuity
at the steering
 colunm 
connector.
