<VV> silicone brake fluid

Ok, folks

Wheel cylinders are here.  Yay!  We've been told by several people that we 
should use silicone brake fluid.  Do you drain out the old first?  
Approximately how much will be need to fill the lines assuming that we do 
purge them first.  Any special prep or precautions?
