In 1986, I brought my family with me to the Grand Rapids, MI, Corsa  
Convention. (Wife and two daughters) I pre-arranged to rent a 1965 4-door  Monza from 
a Chicago member - whom I had not met. I arranged it through a  long-time 
friend in the Chicago club. Not only did I get a great car to drive  around in 
Chicago for a couple of days, caravan to Grand Rapids in, both my wife  and I 
drove it around Grand Rapids for the convention and caravan back to  Chicago. We 
also met the guys family, our kids being of similar ages, and made  great 
Corvair friends along the way. I have often borrowed cars for autocrosses,  but 
this was the only time I rented one for the duration.  Good Luck and I  hope you
