ORIGINAL QUESTION... wonder if the hinges that hold up the lids in the 
engine and trunk compartments were painted body color or left black...were the bolts that hold the hinges on 
painted or left natural...torsion bars be finished with splatter paint?...

Thanks to all for your responses.  All responses state that hinges and bolts are body color, so the conclusion seems to be that the hinges for trunk and engine lids must have been bolted onto the bodies during Fisher assembly and then painted as a unit.  The trunk splatter coat must have been one of the last items painted as no one noted any body color overspray in the trunk area, in fact some reported that the back side of the torsion bars were unsplattered.  Apparently little money was spent on primer or masking tape for these details at the factory
