L2206 and the centerdrilled hole look like a TRW forged piston.
That dent doesn't look too bad. I'd flat file the bump. And check that the ring spins freely, there is not a shiny spot or tight spot in the top side of the ring groove. Be careful of the ring groove bottom (not back, or depth) and even top finish, since the rings rely on those surfaces for a seal too. Scraping, wire brushing, grit or even bead blasting can wreck the piston's ring grooves. Now's a good time to check ring side clearance (0.006 inch is definitely max) and taper.

-------------- Original message --------------
I am currently cleaning the carbon off my pistons using a wire brush and found
damage on one of them... is this from the valve hitting the piston top? So far
it looks like just the one piston is damaged, but I still have two to clean.
The heads are about to get done by the Corvair Ranch, and the engine has the 180
cam in it.... should I take any action or just let this go? Should I somehow
try to repair this damage (could cause a "hot spot" couldnt it?).
