<VV> Astro Engine Question

Were the heads designed for the Astro 1 prototype engine a single head
on each side incorporating the cam or were there 3 individual "heads" on
each side with an attaching part that housed the cam and locked the
individual heads down?
 
I initially assumed that the Astro 1 engine used the separate head
design like the experimental Corvair engine, but looking at the drawings
I can't tell and was trying to think about how that would all work if
the heads were individual for each cylinder..as opposed to bank of 3
cylinders.
 
Any thoughts???
