Terry,
    It must have taken a LOT more than the 225 HP  mentioned to run this EM 
at 165 mph on the salt flats.  Car Life magazine  estimated it took well OVER 
300 HP for Tom K. to run his LM at 157 mph at  Bonneville.
    Also, how in blazes did this car control engine  temp at 165 mph??  Tom 
K. used LOTS of H2O injection to do it.

racing Corvairs on the salt, some faster than Tom K. in the early  years.  There 
was an article in one of the 80's Communiques on all the  Corvairs racing at
