George,

Mark's case (and mine) is that in this particular case, a complete, 
restorable (with very little effort) "T" was basically junked for the 
body SHAPE.  With the minimal amount of the body that they used, they 
could have used a fiberglass replica.  I just think it was a shame to 
waste the entire car for the body shell (shape?)...   In reference to 
your last paragraph, could you point me toward a STOCK, complete, 
non-restored (but drivable) 1928 Model T such as the one they destroyed 
on AHR last night?
