They make a neat wrench called a distributor wrench! Imagine that! Pick one 
up for cheap at your local FLAPS.

  Smitty Says:  I must be very special (not as in "short bus" special) because you can not get a dist wrench or a box end wrench on either of my standard distributor adjusting nuts.  The stud sticks up so far toward the bottom of the distributor base that there isn't room to get one in there.
