I was brainwashed to think that just because I had success in one area (fuel tank resto) means I may not in another (carbs). LOL
Doesn't matter I like working on cars in general, except when I had to redo the brakes on my 01 silverado in my driveway and I needed a huge torx socket and didn't have one, and my jacks weren't tall enough or strong enough to lift the damn thing anyway AND in the winter cold because I was too cheap to hire a mechanic I could trust. Ahhh, life is good, and the Corvair is too.

This is saying you don't realize they are NO different than other GM's 
of the 60's. to me..at least..

Our cars have the same problems as 60's Camaros / Chevelles, etc...

We do have less problems with water pumps and radiators....but twice 
the problems with carbs!! GGGG
