While you are at it, be sure the instrument panel ground is in place and secure.  This ground is secured by the first screw to the left of the steering column under the panel.  There is a ground strap on the back of the panel that runs from this screw up to the instrument cluster.  Also be sure the ground strap is in place.  Sometimes they are misssing if teh panel has been removed from the car in the past.  If it is misssing you can run a new ground wire from the cluster's metal housing to the car body.
