This is one of those 'yes, maybe' deals.
First of all, silicone brake fluid is great stuff. I've used it in a number 
of cars, and after, say 20 years, the fluid is exactly the same color as the 
day it was installed (it comes in many colors plus clear). But these were 
completely redone brake systems; I think it unwise to put it in a system 
that hasn't had all of the brake components redone.

There are some precautions to using silicone; it is EASILY aerated when 
installed. Pouring must be controlled as not to induce air. Bled fluid 
should never be used for at least 24 hours to disipate the air.

However, since your brake system has be 'redone' awhile back, I'd be just 
comfortible reinstalled DOT 3; unless you want to redo the four wheel 
cylinders.
