Yes, I always use an inline filter  between the tank and the engine 
compartment. The tank was restored and coated  with aircraft grade material, and all 
fuel lines replaced, new, a couple of  years ago. There is absolutely NO debris, 
water, or other foreign material  showing in the bottom of the carb bowls. 
The problem is absolutely NOT a  fuel contaminant issue; the cars run great in 
cruse and power... even when  not idling well. It an idle circuit issue.
