<VV> Corvair Starters at FLAPS

I have obtained starters from the local O'Reillys twice.  Both had the wrong "Starter Drive" or Bendix or whatever the thing is called.  The drives were too short, so when you tried to start the engine, it would jam against the ring-gear and start the wires smoking.  However, once I figured out what the problem was on the first one, I simply took them apart and swapped in a spare drive I had on the shelf.  15 minutes to correct and they have both worked fine since (Daily driven Vairs).  I know  I could have taken them back, but I needed the car right now and it was MUCH less expensive than shipping them in from the coastal vendors.  I did order another spare drive (twice) from the vendors, that way I have one available, just in case!

The solenoid should be available at any FLAPS, as GM used it for years on
everything.

Starter? I don't know. Never had a reason to ask. I've always taken
them
apart and replaced the worn parts. Or looked through the used pile.....

I would think on a starter you could trust any you find. At least as far as
the warranty holds! ggg

Are Corvair starters available at my local FLAPS? If so, are any in
particular to be trusted? How about just the solenoid?

I'm a pretty ardent supporter of our Corvair vendors, but in a bit of a
hurry on this one.

Thanks--
