<VV> Brake adjustment question + more questions

Thanks for the input. Further discussion with the owner indicates that the mechanic said he had "completely gone through the brakes" as opposed to rebuilding them. I pulled the suspect wheel to find half worn shoes (installed correctly) , very dirty parts, and what appear to be the original brake hoses. I noticed that there are new hoses on the rear brakes, however. A manual adjustment of the shoe clearance did not make any difference so I plan to change the hoses tomorrow. I'll let you know what happens.
