*********
install a keyed or 90 ^ double setscrewed straight cut gear of about 18 or
20 pitch steel on the input shaft, leaving the original shaft stem out far
enough to use the drill to bring the lift into fast, near contact. Rough
approach with this shaft.

Now intall another gear of same pitch keyed with a bolt, and in mesh with
the above gear. This is for use for the final, weight bearing lifting...
1/3 the teeth=3 times the lifting torque, 1/3 the lifting speed, and 300
times the brush and bearing life in your $180 trick drill motor.

The bolt/shaft in the small gear could be mounted as per a throw-out clutch
bearing ( a sintered bushing ) or use a flanged ball bearing .

Add safety features as necessary, or beef up the ones supplied.

just an uplifting thought ... ken campbell, idaway
