<VV> Drove it today

I had to go down to San Diego to work on a customer's phone system today.
It's a little over 75 miles one way. I decided that since it was the
Corvair's Birthday, I would flip the gas bill and drive my 63 Spyder instead
of the company truck. So, I filled the trunk with all my tools, put down the
top and away I went. I got many thumbs up along the way. The customer was a
high school. When I went out to my car afterwards, school had just let out.
There were several kids admiring the car and several said that they had
never heard of Corvairs. I left at 3:00 and I rushed home as fast as the
heavy traffic on Interstate 5 would let me. Changed clothes and off to the
Vintage Corsa meeting. Along the way, I stopped at the car wash just as they
closed. Oh well, I showed up to the meeting with a dirty car. Better dirty
than not there I said to my self.

Most of the meeting was spent organizing the fan belt toss. Afterwards, we
all stood around in the parking lot admiring each other's cars and the one
rampside that showed. I'm looking forward to the 'toss. I hope to meet many
of you there in person.
