As was previously stated, yes Jacksonville is in the Northeast section of Florida. Years ago it seemed as though everyday there were thunderstorms that lasted a long time. However, due to changes in climate the thunderstorms aren't as prevelant as they used to be. Inland yes they have more of them. Basically where the East & West seabreezes meet, and last about 10 - 15 mins.
Northen Florida is cooler and the site of the convention is on the banks of the St. John's river which has consistent breezes.
As for the comment about Hurricanes, if you had watched the recent show on the Weather Channel about where Hurricanes hit, if at all in order are S. Florida, Texas, Florida panhanle, North Carolina. Also July is just the beginning of the season with late August and early September the height. North Florida has never seen a direct hit.
As for the heat, no matter where the Convention goes in the summer time there is the possibility of heat and humidity. It's just part of nature.
We hope you plan on attending. CPF is planning a monumental presentation, something that has not been done since 2000. Also we will have some rare and unique cars on display. Let's not forget it is the 40th anniversary of the 69, and there will be a reunion for them. Our goal is to line and show them in numerical order.
Sarah
