<VV> Corvair braking "problem"

Something is definitely wrong - a Corvair with brakes in good  
condition will easily outbrake any other car short of a high end  
sports car.  Lates have bigger brakes so they don't fade as easily -  
the stock '66 did a couple hours of track driving with nothing more  
than the better grade of Raybestos shoes and DOT 4 fluid.  I had to  
brake from 90+ to about 30 at the end of the main straight, every lap.

At the ages these cars are today, new hoses are a good idea too.   
It's been noted quite a few times that odd things can happen when the  
rubber deteriorates inside the hose.
