Lonzo,

Call Jeff at California Corvairs 951-284-3555. He is closed Monday and
Tuesday. He has an Ultravan. His "off the top of his head" answers and
knowledge of my early model questions is astounding.
I'd be willing to bet he could give you some very good advice.

On another note, back in the 70's I helped a buddy build a "T" roadster. He
used a line lock as his E-brake; step on the brake and pull the lever,
locked. Step on the brake again and release the lever, go. He got the valve
from a hydraulics supplier. The valve was installed right under the Master
Cylinder. We drilled the lever actuator and added rod that passed through
the firewall and then to a bracket under the dash. He threaded the rod and
installed a red shift knob he got someplace. It worked very well. I don't
know where the master cylinder is on an Ultravan.

If were looking for a valve, one place I'd look is
http://surpluscenter.com/. You might also look at racing suppliers. Stay
away from electrical. Keep it mechanical (hydraulic) AND as simple as you
can.

However, before you take my advice on a line lock, I advise you to talk with
some of the experts. :)

Good Luck,

Dave Thompson
