I had a good day autocrossing at Grissom AFB.
The weather was perfect, sunny, mid 70s, slight breeze,
It was a great flowing course on concrete by Raleigh Boreign--thanks
much Raleigh. Mostly at the top of my 2nd gear readline---3.27 saginaw.
I didn't win, but was close to the much larger engined E MOD cars.
---4.3 Chevy sorta Lotus and 350 Chevy sorta Fiero, 6 Emod in all--some
sort of a record at a local event.
My very recently rebuilt Corvair Roadster ran and handled great. I
just need to spend more time in it.
One highlight of the day for me was my son Michael's (Levair
Performance and Restoration) Fastest Time of the Day In the Lotus 7
clone that he built , prepared, and co drove with the owner.
They are taking it to the SCCA Solo Nationals in a week. It is a
Lotus 7 clone (1200 #) with a 230 HP Honda S 2000 engine in the
absolute center of the car (front? mid engined). The week spent
lowering the rear roll center helped greatly. Wish I could be there.
Sooo, I just entered the ST. Augustine Florida SECC Nov. 1 and 2 ,
autocross event. See all of you other specialty cars there????

I just can't get over what a great day we had at Grissom, visiting
and competing , and eating out, with all of my gear head friends was
great. My wife went for a change and really enjoyed herself.
I'll try not to break the car before Nov.

Warren
