Cool! Now that you described it, I looked again in the green book. I totally
understand it and it looks like a rather easy job.

You shouldn't have to remove the yoke from the axle to replace the U-joint
on an EM.  Just remove the brake drum, the four bolts that hold the wheel
bearing to the A arm, . . . go to the U-joint and remove the nuts that hold
the U-bolts, pull the axle out aways.  Then you can remove the stub axle
that goes into the differential and holds the U-joint.  Might be a good time
to replace the seals in the side of the diff that seal against the stub
axle.

Depending on how long it has been since the U-joints have been replaced the
C-clamp method if not then it is easy to take the stub axles to somewhere
that has a press.   There are two lengths to the stub axles so be sure to
get the right one back in the correct spot.  You will likely lose some diff
fluid when you pull the stub axles.
