"The facts da the facts". Personally, I'd like to know what goes into a
Clark's alternator, or any other vendors for that matter. Information like
this helps one make an informed decision. I don't see why it can't be
posted to the list.

Regards,
Joel

Subject: <VV> HI Output Alternator

I'm considering installing Clark's internally-regulated, 65-Amp alternator
in my wife's Greenbrier; I know, I could make my own, but I'm at a point in
my
life where I've got a little more money and a lot less time. The vehicle
already has a standard Corvair alternator conversion, with the alternator
modified to 65-Amps... Why?... the vehicle has A/C. I'd like comments
from anyone
who has actually used Clark's Hi Output, internally-regulated alternator.
In
particular, are the front and rear bearings both ball bearings, or is the
rear a sleeve style? I'm looking for reduced noise, improved reliability,
and a
higher charge rate at idle. I'd like to avoid vendor bashing; accordingly,
please respond OFF line.

Much obliged,
Mike Mauro
