<VV> Leaking Fuel Pump

First.. Just tighten the screws that hold the cover in place. If the car
has been in storage, they sometimes leak at first, but generally stop after
30 - 40 miles. I'm assuming the leak is around the edge. If it is
elsewhere, this probably won't solve the problem. Check your oil to see if
it is "growing" or if the dip stick smells like fuel. That would be a
separate problem and a replacement or rebuilt pump is in order.

What pressure does the electric pump produce. Perhaps it is too much and
that is causing the leak?

Many folks who have electric pump (not I) remove the mechanical, put a plug
in the hole, and reverse the plumbing to the carbs - side to side - so that
it goes around the front of the engine rather that the rear. Some with
electric pump only use it at cold start up and then turn it off and drive on
the mechanical one. There are safety issues with an electric pump if it
does not shut off in a crash.
