First was a rusty '61 pg from a Sailor that had just driven it to San Diego in '70
Cut it up to make a 3 wheeler... 5 seats..tandem! Sold in 3 weeks.. but was fun while I had it on the road..

1974 a '65 Monza Cp for $50 with cracked snout... driven 60k miles and traded for a Courier pickup with Buick 225 v6,
in 1977, since I had just scored a super nice 65 Corsa for approx. negative $450 in 1977, after a series of trades,
and the PO popping $1,000 and the Corsa to make the deal.

Note: The wife had her $300 64 Monza vert at this time...and we had a Corvair Sand Buggy as well..

Wife left in late '82 and I sold the 64 vert for $4,200! unheard of at the time...to an impulse buyer...

Soon after I let the 65 Corsa go in the same circumstances... guy offered $2800 and the '78 Honda 750 SS
he rode into my gas station... I rode the bike home to get the title!! ggg

Picked up my 1966 Glaspar 16 ft runabout with Wayne 100 [ verticle Corvair engine as featured in Hot Rod Mag ]
for the princely sum of $400...in 1988..

Joined VV in Nov. 98 and was soon challenged to put up or shut up!

Picked up a salvaged 66 vert from Eric Starkey for approx. $950..delivered... and 8 weeks later was driving it.

and it made the trip to Tahoe and back with nary a failure! 99% USED parts... only the mech. fuelpump was NEW.

Spring 2000 found my Crown v8 for $2200..drove it on the trailer.

Also picked up my Manx style car...a ClaimJumper body on a custom VW style floorpan for $300..drug it on the trailer.

$1960 later I placed 2nd to Warren Le Veque at Flagstaff in the AX and then sold it for $4500 to a ManxClub member..

2003 I saw a '69 # 5990 - 47k miles that no one wanted.. $800 and it was mine... I was in Reno, NV... car in Needles , Ca.

Vair buds going that way hauled it to my painter who painted it...and when I first saw it , looked factory!.

2006 I helped a Vairbud out by buying his 66 Turbo cp, no one seemed to want..$1000 still have it.

2007 picked up a 64 cp 140 pg... with NEW 140 pg engine.. $600 delivered! It's for sale...**

Sold the 66 vert in Fall '08 for $3900 with 18k miles of enjoyment / never left me on the side of the road..

Sold the 69 on ebay in the Spring of '08 for $5500.. ** nice car..but not "my kind of car"

Made the deal on a '67 Monza pg.... but will probably not see it until the snow melts up north.. $1500

Hopefully It'll be my "road car" for events within 400 miles or so..

I've bought / sold another dozen Vairs... but never intended to keep them..
