they tried to sell me 2 for my boat when i bought it.
they are advertised in several marine catalogs.
other dealer suggestions were not to touch throttles until oil pressure  
gauges had readings. then set the chokes. this was on volvo 350 motors (chevy  
small block) in a fairly large boat.
i am not sure it would be worth it on a corvair , just dont touch the gas  
pedal until the oil light goes out.then set the choke or pump it a couple  
times.
this is assuming you have good clean oil etc etc ....maybe even oil  
supplements  to help keep things lubed better .
