Mark, For information and possible purchase check out LN Engineering in my hometown of Momence , Ill. Related to Porsche subjects but the owners are aware of vintage aircooled needs. Check out thier information on oils. Good source for gear oils also. They have Brad Penn,Sweeepco, and others. They also bring up the fact of Motorcyle Oils having more zinc and othter protection. Good small company. http://www.lnengineering.com. --- Lee Cramp-Group Corvair. They also make high dollar, but excellent Nickle alloy cylinders and will do them for Corvair.

You want a SL rated oil. Where I live it is only available in a diesel oil(15W40). NAPA brand of diesel oil is rated CJ/SL.
