First, some bona fides.....

CORSA member since 1980

Past President of NTCA and Music City Corvair clubs

Have attended at least half of the conventions since 1980

Major involvement in the Dallas90 mini-convention and the 1995 National in Dallas

Now the dues increase. It is not the only thing that can help the situation that
CORSA finds itself in, but no one has come up with anything else.

Getting more members, Good idea, where are they. Someone in an earlier post mentioned
the 'model t' clubs. They faced the same situation 20 years ago.

The Increasing age of its current membership and the decline of interest by younger folks
dealt an almost death blow to those clubs. CORSA may be approaching that point. Witness
the number of good active members that that have died this year and the increasing amount of
grey hair(or no hair) that you see at the conventions.

At the last convention, I attended the meeting at which the board was present to answer
questions, etc. Dues were discussed then. No decision then either.

I suggested that we send the Communique via e-mail. Most of the membership has e-mail capability. Well, you would have thought I had suggested we kill Santa Claus. It was not the board, but other members that were present that objected..

As I see it, CORSA cannot afford to run off too many current members with a big dues increase, but it might be able to soften the blow by doing something else to reduce costs at the same time.

I, too, live on a 'fixed income', but I can still decide what is important to me and spend it accordingly.

Food for thought.....

How about one dues amount for e-mail subscribers and another for those that just must have the magazine.

Thanks
