Matt, you lucky dog, you. Around here, in the technological backwash of
Ohio, my choices are 1)HughesNet at twice my present cost, 2)
Time-Worthless, at half again my present cost (and no doubt including all
the attendant TW BS with it), and X-5 wireless, at a quarter more than my
present cost. X-5 is a "local" high-speed that uses dialup for uploading
but a local base-antenna-to-home broadcast for downloading. All in all, not
a very stellar range in choices.
Maybe some day my phone company, Verizon, will actually get their
high-speed service extended to my area. Their deals look like possibly the
way to go. Some day...... (and maybe a house will fall out of the sky, too.)
