Unleaded didn't start until 1972 ? in Calif.!!

?Corvairs were designed in the late '50's!

If Judge would read more of our posts here he would already know that the 80-95 hp Vair engines are approx 8.5 to 1 Compression ratios and run fine on 85 or higher octane.

102 's and above have approx. 9.25 to 1 ?CR.... ? they normally need at least 89 octane




??And he would know that todays Octane ratings are derived differently than the 60's... ?so numbers mean nothing




Now lets hear from all those that attest that Higher octane means more power!!! LOL!
