If you enter as a pit crew member,  don't you have to be on a list for a 
specific car which the owner/driver has submitted in advance?  Perhaps you 
could get in as a corner worker?  That is more fun anyway and puts you much 
closer to the on track action.

Perhaps these rules do not apply at this particular event?  I don't know the 
rules at this venue, just trying to point out that you should be aware that 
you might encounter something like that and should be ready to provide the 
answers that the management would want to hear.
