Jim-The smell probably did come from the seeping carb. I get some smell when I pull into the garage and close the door and I always figured it came from the carbs as the older cars had a tendency to give out a little bit of odor. I suppose if one was to work hard enough you could mostly eliminate it. When I got my '66 several years ago I went to add some gas to the tank and the filler hose was so bad most of the gas went onto the ground. Obviously yours isn't that bad. I know that you don't want any leakage inside your garage as a spark could cause a disaster. Ken

Jim - For the gas smell, you may also want to check the fuel filler hose. I have not changed out the original on the Aztec Bronze vert and it does weep a little if I fill it all the way up. Easiest way check is to pull the front left wheel and look for signs of fluid drip on the tank and nearby parts under the filler pipe. Filler hoses are good fodder for club tech sessions, once the tank gets close to empty.
PG just sounds like it's low on fluid. They last a very long time if the fluid kept up.
