<VV> REAR AXLE YOKE REMOVAL

Ahh...

I must have been doing it wrong when I broke two pullers (one of them
a Snap-On, courtesy of Rick's Automotive during a tech session) while
trying to remove the yokes from the axles on my '60. Likewise my
buddy James and his '62 Spyder when we were trying to get the axles
out of that particular car... and even heating the yoke with a torch
didn't help.

The next relocated tech session at Jame's place (also a club picnic
function) revolved around a semi-contest on who could come up with a
puller that would take the yokes off. Mel Herwald had a really
nifty puller that used a peculiar hydraulic principle with a
two-stage multiplier "pull" function that looked promising but we
didn't get a chance to put it to the test before time ran out or food
appeared or something else happened to distract the masses.

Mel, you still in here somewhere? What's the story on that
pulley? Ever use it on an early yoke yet?

tony.. still yet to get the yokes off the '60 4-door's axles

PS: a more concerted effort may well be indulged should the
recently repacked rear axle bearings decide to get
noisy... double-yoking etc... whatever it ends up taking to get them off

PPS: moral of story- sometimes an early yoke will not cooperate
regardless of the luck others may have had... trust me
