<VV> CNG Vehicles (no corvair)

I bought a used dual-fuel Ranchero a few years back, in 1990. It had the
propane tank
mounted in the rear bed, as so many truck conversions did at the time.

In the engine compartment, there was an electric heater to turn the liquid
back into a gas, and a
cast-aluminum duct to the top of the carb. The regular air cleaner was
eliminated.
Under the dash there was a switch to turn off the gasoline flow and turn on
the propane flow.
So you could drive with either fuel, whenever you wanted.
I think you still had to start the engine on gasoline, before switching.

I disconnected all the propane equipment and just continued using the car
with gasoline, since 1990
gas prices still weren't high enough to realize any real savings and the big
tank in the rear bed
made it impossible to carry full sheets of plywood, which is what I needed
the car for.
