<VV> Sticking Throttle

I am no expert.  But two seasons ago my wifes 63 had the same symptoms.  
In the end all I should have had to do was to take the peddle out.  
Remove it from the shaft derust it (shine it with sand paper), grease 
with white lithium grease and re-install.  I did that and replaced all 
the bushings from the front to rear...they were 40+ years old.
