My next door neighbor has three Corvettes; a very early, a mid production
fast back and a brand new 2010. He is on the BOD of the local vette club.
The other day, I went out front and there were about 6 or 7 vettes parked
along the street. My neighbor's garage door was open and there were a bunch
of guys standing around. Not to be out classed, I pulled my yellow 63 Spyder
convertible out of the garage and put the top down. As I did, several of the
guys walked over. Two of them almost chuckled and said the "N" word.
However, many of them were seriously interested. Two guys said that they
didn't know that Corvairs came turbocharged. It was fun showing my Spyder to
a bunch of Vette guys. It was also nice to see that my little spyder was in
better condition than several of the "newer" vettes.
