<VV> update: nasty noise when clutching

I just got my engine and trans separated... so far what I found is that the split ring is a bit wallowed out.. not a lot.. but apparently enough to cause trouble.  The split ring was also very loose inside the snout... I pulled it out easily with one finger.  

The other thing I noticed was the input shaft pulled out easily... it didnt fall out but didnt give any resistance to being pulled out... so maybe the pilot bushing is wallowed out as well.
