All,

For my own personal reasons, the events I attend conventions for are as
follows, though not necessarily or always in this order:

1) concours (as a judge and spectator)
2) CPF meetings and presentations
3) group meetings, specifically:
    3a) the Air 'Vair Group
    3b) Stock Corvair Group
    3c) '69 Group
    3d) Corvanatics
4) the parts vendors
5) Tech sessions
6) tours of local points of significant interest (particularly historical
and/or scenic)
7) Autocross
8) the Banquet

Note that there has never been a convention that has EVER NOT had all of
these conflict-free. I've ALWAYS had to miss one or more of them, due to
conflicts. What is giving me heartburn this year are the conflicts with
concours, a tech session, and a tour, AND two group meetings at the same
time. Both sets of conflicts are, in my view, totally unnecessary.

Meanwhile, other events are of little interest for me. Thus there are days
that are all but a waste of time for me. This year, Wednesday and Thursday
only have evening events that are of interest (with the exception of a
couple of EXPENSIVE tours, which I cannot afford). Those days I'll spend
roaming the parts vendors, or maybe selling some myself (undecided yet).

Do I ever think there will be a convention without any conflicts? No. But
every year, I cross my fingers, grit my teeth, and hope for the best. And
try to make as many of the desired events as possible......

One word, prioritize!

-Mark (attended ALL the conventions)

P.S. Please note that the Air'Vair Group, Stock Corvair Group, Corvanatics,
and even the '60 and '69 groups are NOT incompatable with each other, and
thus should NOT be put opposite each other. This year the '60/'69 groups
AND the Corvanatics/Stock Corvair Group meetings are opposite each other.
What were they (the schedulers) thinking?????
