<VV> Original paint?

Thsi might sound like a frivolous question, and I admit it's not very
important. My '63 Monza, bought umpteenth-hand in 1993, is your basic
black, and I'm wondering if some of the paint on it is still original.
It has a '64 hood, and I've done a few patches with the old reliable
Rustoleum, but the roof, fenders, doors, and engine lid just might be
original. Is there any way to tell for sure? All the paint that I
suspect might be original polishes up to a mirror finish with enough
elbow grease.
I've done a lot of polishing with various grades of rubbing compound
to the point where some spots are getting thin enough to see primer,
and some of it is light gray or white and some is red.
One of the clues worth mentioning is that, for example on the roof,
there's absolutely no overlap from the paint onto the chrome trim.
Again, no big deal. Thoughts are welcome.

Thanks in advance,
