Not so, what heater openings where?  Only the drain holes behind the rear 
window are possibilities and they don't exist on wagons and would be easy to 
plug with a small screen.  I'm assuming that the louver spacing for engine 
air is small enough to keep mice out.  I have never had mice in a Corvair.
