  You can buy masking tape in 1/16", 1/8" and 1/4" widths.  The 1/8" is 
the right size for the line around the edge of the dash, and the others 
can be used to mask off the silver around the instruments.  Oh, you get 
the silver to begin with by stripping the dash completely - it's aluminum...
