<VV> ECU controller micro tune ups

Computers are general purpose electronic processors, designed typically for
human interaction to process any kind of data that can be represented
electronically and respond according to changing input and predictably
adjusting the output to control something (devices, screens, printers, etc).

A car's ECU/CPU is basically the same except they are much simpler because
they are designed for a specific set of inputs that may vary, to produce
specific outputs, to control specific devices.

The domains of input values and ranges of output values are severely limited
to control specific devices.

They are not designed for general user input.

Modern engines are much "tighter" but I think it could be done, at least in
theory, and the net result would be as "loose" as the operational parameters
that exist.
Tuning any non-electronically controlled car only sets it up for conditions
that exist at the time it is tuned up, in you garage on the day it was done,
but those parameters change as soon as you drive it out of the garage !

It would be like, as is often said, having a hundred or more tune-ups every
second, based on the instantaneous fuel temp, air temp, pressure, humidity,
engine speed, etc.

Anything that the Corvair or any other high temperature engine requires,
could be programmed if someone wanted to make the effort, although the
operational tolerances in a Corvair or any older engine are harder to define
or control precisely.

OK, back to manually tuning my old-fangled Vair !
Charlie
